NY Arts Magazine, a dynamic arts organization with offices in New York and Beijing, seeks an energetic editorial/administration intern to help and assist with the daily running of our projects in New York and Beijing.
The ideal candidate would demonstrate both motivation and a willingness to learn, be able to apply technical and creative skills in a professional setting while working cooperatively with others to achieve a common goal.
Applicants should have:
- Friendly disposition
- A basic familiarity or interest in art gallery functions, contemporary art, and contemporary Chinese art.
- Fluent speaking and writing skills in Mandarin and English. Translation proficiency is a MUST.
- Computer literacy. Word, Text Edit, PhotoShop, and Content Management System.
- Extreme attention to detail.
- Ability to learn fast on the job.
- Ability to follow though tedious tasks.
- Knowledge in Western and Asian contemporary art worlds is a plus.
Daily tasks include:
- Researching and fact-checking
- English-Chinese / Chinese-English translation
- Minor editing and writing
- Uploading editorial content on New York and Beijing Web sites
- Compile news stories for weekly New York and Beijing newsletters
- Administrative tasks such as sorting through editorial submissions, mailing, and shipping, among others
- Identify potential Chinese artists or galleries for marketing purpose
